Surrey school admissions for parents

Official source

Surrey County Council splits admissions into primary, secondary, in-year and appeals sections, then links previous-year allocations, booklets, school maps and neighbouring-local-authority guidance from the same hub. Surrey's published steps also make it clear when offer messages are released and how appeals are scheduled.

Primary September 2026 round

The closing date for on-time primary, infant and junior applications was 15 January 2026. Surrey says parents hear the primary outcome in the evening of 16 April 2026.

Secondary September 2026 round

Surrey secondary applications opened on 1 September 2025 and closed on 31 October 2025. The council says secondary outcomes for on-time applicants are sent on 2 March 2026 from 5pm onwards.

Supplementary forms and changes

Both the primary and secondary application journeys include separate steps for supplementary forms and for address or preference changes after applying, which is especially important for schools with their own admission authority.

Appeals timetable

For Surrey community or voluntary controlled schools, the secondary appeal deadline is 13 April 2026 and the primary appeal deadline is 15 May 2026. Surrey lists 16 June 2026 as the key secondary hearing date and 17 July 2026 for primary appeals.

In-year and previous allocations

Surrey has a separate in-year route outside the normal round and also publishes previous allocation information and school admission booklets so parents can compare historic cut-offs with the current rules.
