Ripon Grammar School is a selective grammar school. For September 2027 entry, children must register for and sit the Ripon Grammar School entrance test, then reach the required standard before they can be considered for a place through North Yorkshire Council admissions.
Exam dates and admissions evidence
The North Yorkshire Council selective-schools page says the online entrance-test registration for September 2027 entry will be available by 30 April 2026, the deadline to register is 30 June 2026, invitations will be sent during the week of 25 August 2026, the entrance test will take place on a Saturday during term time in September 2026 with the exact date to be confirmed, and results will be issued in mid October 2026. Ripon Grammar School also states that its Main School Open Evening is on Thursday 18 June 2026 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
