Admission to Year 7 is by the 11+ selection test. Places are applied for through the local education authority and allocated based on performance in the 11+ selection test. CCHSG is part of the Consortium of Selective Schools in Essex (CSSE).

Exam dates and admissions evidence

For admission in September 2026, the 11+ test takes place in September 2025 and CSSE registration opens for a limited period in May and June. The school holds a Year 5 information evening annually in June. CCHSG?s own supplementary information form for certain pupil-premium, free-school-meal or care-status criteria was available from 14 May 2025 and had to be submitted by 31 October 2025. National offer day was 2 March 2026.
