Entry requirements

QEGS Horncastle says students wanting to join the school in Year 7 must achieve the minimum standard score in the 11+ selection tests set and standardised on behalf of the Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools. The 2027 admissions policy sets an agreed admission number of 120 in four forms of entry.

Exam dates and admissions evidence

The reviewed Horncastle admissions page says the main open evening is in the early autumn and that prospective students are also welcome to visit by prior arrangement with the Headteacher, but it does not publish an exact 2026 date in the visible page text reviewed here. The 2027 policy adds that information on testing is available from school by the end of May in the year prior to admission, the local-authority application booklet is produced in early September, and places are allocated on 1 March before September entry. The reviewed school materials do not publish the exact 2026 11+ test day...
