Bexley splits normal-round primary, secondary, grammar-test and in-year information across dedicated pages and booklets. The most important planning point is that the Bexley Selection Test registration is completely separate from the standard Year 7 application.

Primary September 2026 round

Children born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 can start Reception in September 2026. Bexley opened primary applications on 1 September 2025, closed them on 15 January 2026 and said offers for on-time applicants would be made on 16 April 2026.

Secondary September 2026 round

Children born between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015 transfer to secondary school in September 2026. Bexley opened secondary applications on 1 September 2025, closed them on 31 October 2025 and said offers for on-time applicants would be made on 2 March 2026.

Bexley Selection Test

Bexley has 4 grammar schools using one shared Bexley Selection Test. Registration for the 2026 test opened on 1 March 2026 and closed at midnight on 31 March 2026, with no late registrations accepted and no appeal route for missing the registration deadline.

Grammar-school places

Bexley says a single test is used for all 4 grammar schools and that 800 places are available across them. Passing the selective standard does not guarantee a place because school oversubscription criteria still apply.
